“Love is a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination.” – Voltaire

can•vas [kan-vuh s]: a closely woven, heavy cotton cloth; often used for tents and sails – and paintings.

Many artists speak of the blank canvas itself as inspiration. Kandinsky said, “An empty canvas is a living wonder.” We see newness and opportunity where others might see nothing at all. An artist and a canvas share an intimacy – as, eventually, each will reflect the other. “Throughout the time in which I am working on a canvas I can feel how I am beginning to love it, with that love which is born of slow comprehension.” – Joan Miro

My first canvas bin arrived this weekend. It is LOVELY. The construction is wonderful and the stenciling on the canvas is glorious to look at. It has pride of place on my bookshelf where it holds the latest knitting project. Now to decide just *how* many I need. Beautiful!
