One of the most beautiful dinners I have ever experienced was with my friend Angie Mosier. It is not only that the food was so wonderfully delicious but mostly because of Angie’s love for the smells, tastes and histories of the foods we were eating. That night, she described a slice of tomato in a way that will change the way I think of food for the rest of my life. I have that same feeling when I read Glass Petal Smoke. Michelle Krell Kydd makes me want to get into the kitchen on one of these cold December days and make lots of cookies.
