I have several of these Alabama Chanin zipper bags to hold pens and pencils, small electronics, sewing supplies, and cosmetics. But, my daughter can think of a million (very important) things that need a bag (hair bows, toy ponies, pennies, you name it).
Over the years, I have misplaced so many bags that I started customizing each bag with my contact information so that kind souls may help my beautiful bags come back to me. Works like a charm.
100% Organic Cotton Canvas + Made in the USA. Permanent markers for customization included with every purchase made before August 31, 2011.
Give us a shout-out in the comments below by August 31st for a chance to win this (already) customized bag for your very own.
Great idea! I can use one of those, for I constantly misplace my scissors, needles, bobbins… Well, you know ;P
Very cool! I love these! So glad to see all these Journal posts. Thanks, Natalie.
SO CUTE! I can think of millions of uses for this!
Love the bag! Enjoy reading your journal posts!
i love these! beautiful and functional
Very cool!
Just wanted to chime in with my entry for the giveaway and also to say I’ve been sugar/flour/starch free for eight days! It’s not quite the detox you’re experiencing, but it’s all I can take with my dusty ovaries and hot flashes. (And I’ve lost three pounds!!!)
I have an almost 13-year-old at this is perfect for. We have tons of stuff and tons of bags, but none that could be returned to us if we lost it! I love it!
Shouting it out loud, this is cool, want one!
Love this idea! Perfect for my on-the-go sewing stash!
Lovely idea and such fun bags. They are gorgeous.
THE Coolest zipper bags I’ve ever seen! It is perfect for me because I am constantly putting something down like that, and then forgetting it when I leave. Now with this, I can put my name and email address on it, and when someone finds it, they can alert me as to where I can find it!!! Any other products for ladies with a little “short-term memory loss?! ha! 🙂
Love this bag! I can think of lots of little things to keep in it.
Love this! And my five-year-old daughter would agree, too! How fun! Thanks, Natalie!
This is such a great idea. I would love this for sewing or knitting supplies when we go on a road trip!!
I am such a fan of everything “Alabama Chanin.” I am an art teacher and in my classes I harp about repurposing-I encourage my students NOT to buy materials for this pieces but rather to use what they have or find, and give it a new life. “Alabama Chanin” is a big part of my fiber art lecture and never fails to stand out to my students as something beautiful and real-their brains change about fashion and living. I would love to have this bag to show the beautiful handiwork – plus I would feel such pride just to own a real Chanin.
This is a brilliant idea! I usually tuck a business card in the bags that contain my treasures but yours is such an elegant solution…love it!
“Beware of snakes within”…that’s sooo funny!
I simply LOVE this bag, and if I don’t win (which will probably be the case..I never win those give-aways, LOL), I’ll make it myself!
Thank you for the inspiration!
I. Want. This. Bag.
Yes, indeedy. Great sack – btw, introduced co-worker to your DIY realm via the jersey corset yesterday, which resulted in squealing and jumping up and down in the hallway.
Love it. My crochet hooks would be so happy.
I am in desperate need of a bag just like this for my small knitting gear. Perhaps the warning of snakes would keep my young children out of it. Probably not.
consider this my shout out…unashamed bag lady here! happy day!
A terrific idea — you are a creativity factory. Put me in the competition too.
I absolutely love this!! Might have to order one in case I don’t win!
This little bag would be great for my watercolors and pencils and brushes. I would carry it –everywhere.
Ha! my daughter is helping me type. My name is Tracie–not Traciw.
I love this! You can never have too many bags.
This would be handy to have. I can think of maybe 1/2 a million things to keep in it. Thanks for the chance to win.

Handwriting is stitching with a pen. I love it! A place to keep my writing/drawing and stitching implements! You can never have too many little bags.
Whenever I am harried and stressed, I reach for one of your books and, by just leafing through the pages, my mind calms, creative juices flow, and that makes me happy. Thank you for that. Thanks also for continued inspiration on the website like cute bags and giving us permission to write on them with markers.
Is it made of canvas? maybe you guys might sell the

Oh Natalie, that’s fantastic.
I wonder if you would be open to donating the bag to the charity that I volunteer for: the legal information network for cancer. LINC (in Richmond Va) is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to helping people with the business side of cancer. Serving the Central Virginia community, LINC provides information, education and referral services for legal and financial assistance to individuals confronted with the overwhelming issues that arise from the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
One of LINC’s annual fundraising events is “It’s in the Bag”, where donated handbags are featured in a silent auction: http://www.cancerlinc.org/?page_id=1766 .
You have an overwhelming number of responses to your offer, but I thought I would ask—I’m a huge fan of your work.
Warmest regards and thanks for all that you do,
Sally
