A helpful resource for your sewing box or design studio. The book categorizes many types of needles: bodkins, embroidery, quilting, sharps, and more.
Each needle is drawn and labeled below a brief description, including the shapes and tip. It also provides technique suggestions. The opposite page houses a felt insert to help store and organize your needles.
The Needle Index by Valley Quail Chapter is now available on our website.
I’ve owned this wonderful “toy” for years…..it is so easy to identify what needle I am using if it gets misplaced, and plenty of room in it to store tons of needles! A must for ALL sewers!
Happy to have just ordered this treasure.
Love mine, and could not live without it. Glad you are sharing! Think I may make a firmer bookboard cover for it, and then an AC style cover for that! That should cover it. 🙂
I am interested in purchasing 4 or 5 of The Needle Index. Can I get them from you?
Thanks…Linda Pansing Tucson
Hi Linda,
We no longer carry The Needle Index. Unfortunately, the book is no longer being published.
We are from the Canadian Embroiders Guild and would love to purchase 2 of your Needle Index booklets. Thank you Beth Sims
Hi Beth,
You can purchase them from our website here: http://alabamachanin.com/the-needle-index
Happy Sewing!
Due to some too bizzare occurrence, I ordered three Index Needle books, received one and paid for none — I will now try to order two and pay for three, which should give us all migraines.
