#RECIPES: A CHATTANOOGA WHISKEY COCKTAIL

In anticipation of tomorrow evening’s opening exhibit of our BBQ’ed Dresses Collection at Warehouse Row in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we mixed up a celebratory cocktail. Our friend Brooks Reitz of the Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. sent us a few more bottles of his Small Batch Tonic for the event, and the Chattanooga Whiskey Co. is providing the booze, so we mixed the two together, plus a touch of lemonade for sweetness, and found ourselves in a dreamy barbeque state of mind.

A CHATTANOOGA WHISKEY COCKTAIL

We’ve written about the Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. many times, as well as our collaboration with Brooks on the Jack Rudy Bar Towel (shown above), which we sell in our online store. The Chattanooga Whiskey Co. was new to us, so it was especially fun to try. The 1816 Reserve is a classic American whiskey with a hint of spice and a dry, clean finish. If you’re a whiskey drinker, it’s lovely neat or on the rocks. But, we love our cocktails here in the south and, with the summer heat upon us a mixed drink with plenty of ice is in order.

CHATTANOOGA RUDY

2 oz. Chattanooga Whiskey
2 oz. Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Small Batch Tonic
1 oz. Lemonade
Sprig of mint to garnish

Fill a highball glass with ice. We used Heath Ceramics Small Tapered Glass for this one. Add the ingredients and stir until mixed. Place a fresh sprig of mint in the glass for garnish.

The lemonade adds a delicious sweetness to the whiskey and tonic, making the drink pleasing, easy, and just a little bit dangerous.

Join us for an evening of BBQ’ed Dresses, barbeque by Jim ‘N Nicks from Birmingham, Alabama, and a Chattanooga Rudy (or two) tomorrow evening.

Thursday, July 25th

Warehouse Row, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Exhibition opening reception from 6 pm to 8 pm

Due to unforeseen change in travel I’ll be in Chattanooga on August 17/18.
So lucky to be able to come to the exhibition, looking forward to see these beautiful looking dresses. Will you be selling materials/ fabric there as well?
