Do you know your Enneagram type? For those unfamiliar with the Enneagram, it is a set of nine distinct personality types, each denoted by a number. The personality system is represented by a nine-pointed star within a circle and each one of us falls on one point somewhere within that figure. Knowing your Enneagram personality type can help you to understand your whole self better, identifying the hold that the ego-mind has on our daily routines and lives, and providing us with a deeper understanding of our motivations and coping behaviors.
On November 6th, we hosted a No Bullshit Breakfast, taught by Jessica Turner. Guests took the test prior to the event and were walked through their specific type, learning to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The purpose of this study was for each participant to live with more compassion and love for themselves and others. As part of the exercise, we provided a shopping guide created to align with each specific Enneagram type. Here we provide a quick and simple compendium that you can use to help understand your number and what Alabama Chanin items you might enjoy. Consult the guide when shopping – or pass it along to those who might be buying your holiday gifts.
Type 2 – The Helper: You are generous, caring, and a people pleaser. Your personality may direct you toward the Waffle Sweatshirt, Organic Cotton Jersey Napkins, or the Bird’s Nest Etched Shallow Salad Bowl.
Type 5 – The Investigator: You are perceptive, innovative, and can demonstrate isolated behaviors. Your tastes could lean toward the Love Tee, the Alabama Studio Book series, or the Fitted Waffle Cardigan.
Type 7 – The Enthusiast: You are spontaneous, versatile, and scattered. The Leisure Core Club offers you a little of everything (just in case), while the Customized Converse in Sapphire or our Gilded Bomber offers a dazzling (and fun) option to everyday basics.
We invite you to learn more about your Enneagram type and explore how it can define your personality and impact your behaviors by browsing the Enneagram Institute website. Shop your carefully selected pieces online or at The Factory Store.
