“We first started talking about slow fashion as a derivative of the slow food movement. I think in many ways that industry is light years ahead of where the fashion is. People started looking at the ways things were planted and grown much sooner than we did with textiles. I think a lot of what’s being done around sustainable fashion is really taking cues from that movement.” – Natalie Chanin
Recorded during fall fashion week, Natalie spoke with Charles Beckwith and Cathy Schepis of American Fashion Podcast about her education and background as a designer, sustainable fashion, the founding of Alabama Chanin, our business model, and her new non-profit, Project Threadways.

American Fashion Podcast explores fashion as an art and a business, diving deep into the designing, making, and selling of garments with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation.
Thank you to Charles and Cathy for the lovely conversation.
