The earliest days of Alabama Chanin’s website mostly consisted of Natalie teaching herself web-publishing in her (almost nonexistent) free time. She saw it as a way to express elements of who Alabama Chanin was without literally stitching it onto a garment – though we actually did that, too. Because of this tinkering and self-teaching, Alabama Chanin stepped into the e-commerce world in 2006, long before many businesses considered this as a viable path.
In the past 20+ years, web design and technology have changed in ways that we could not have predicted. We are grateful that we haven’t had to go it alone; Over the years, we have worked with talented companies like Commune Design, who designed new logos for us in 2010. Later that year, we also launched a new website. We teamed with Hugo & Marie in 2012 as a way to keep current with the standards in e-commerce design, continuing to update along the way.
We are grateful to Lemonade Creative for helping us make this latest transition to our new website. So much of the Alabama Chanin team has had a hand in the process too. (Thank you. Thank you.). Whether it’s your first time here or your thousandth, we have loved meeting here with you and will continue to do so, always.
Here are some new website features to look for:
A new online account: All guests with existing accounts will need to create a new one. You can use your previous email address and password, or choose a new one.
Gift certificate code updates: All previously issued gift certificate codes have been altered slightly. Our guest experience team will be reaching out to you with your updated code, but please give us a call at 256-760-1090 with any questions or to receive your new code.
AfterPay: This has been added as a new payment option at checkout. Conveniently pay for your purchases in installments. You can read more about AfterPay here.
