Laura Vinroot Poole is founder and owner of Capitol, the internationally recognized specialty store with locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Los Angeles. In both locations, Laura creates unique experiential in-store events and showcases luxury designers with expressive style. In the early 2000s, Laura and Natalie met during Paris Fashion Week at L’Hotel in the Oscar Wilde Suite—where Natalie was showing the collection. The two connected over lunches, their love of fashion, and common Southern roots. What We Wore, Laura’s podcast, tells authentic stories of the people she meets on her journey. Listen to her episode “An Alabama Tale” featuring Natalie here—which includes a bit about their time in Paris. Laura recently spoke with Kimry Blackwelder about Natalie and Alabama Chanin—to be included in our 21 Years celebration launching on September 21, 2021.
For a limited time, pieces from Alabama Chanin are available in her stunning Los Angeles store, Capitol, Brentwood, at the Brentwood Country Mart.
At the Brentwood store, Laura partnered with celebrated jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth to create an in-store shop, which houses the largest collection of Irene’s jewelry outside of her West Hollywood flagship. Stop by the store to see Irene’s beautiful work as well as designers like Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, Marni, Celine, our dear friend, Zero + Maria Cornejo,—and, of course, Alabama Chanin.
